Accreditation
It is important that you feel confident when you select an adoption agency,
knowing that you can depend upon it throughout your adoption process.
Learning as much about the agency, its programs, services, policies along with its
fee schedule, getting references from others who have used the agency and meeting
the staff you will be working with during your adoption is essential before you
make your final decision in choosing an adoption agency.
One criteria adoptive parents and birth parents should not overlook in
selecting an agency is learning about what accreditation, approvals and licenses
the agency maintains on a state, federal and international level. When an
agency achieves the proper accreditation, this indicates that the agency has
met the requirements of the regulating body(s) and has been deemed satisfactory
to conduct the approved services and programs to assist both adoptive parents
and birth parents with an adoption.
New Life Adoption Agency is pleased to be a licensed New York State authorized
and approved not-for-profit adoption agency. On February 29, 2008 New Life
Adoption Agency was awarded a two year accreditation for the Hague Convention
by the Council on Accreditation (COA). This accomplishment demonstrates the
agency's commitment to both the children and adoptive parents served by New
Life's adoption services and programs. The accreditation process is supervised
by the U.S. State Department through the Council on Accreditation. To learn more
about the Hague Convention or the accreditation process, visit www.travel.state.gov
