It may be daunting to think about traveling to a foreign country, where you will have a life changing event occur, and to begin to imagine all the travel details, arrangements and appointments that must be made. Take a breath, you do not have to worry – you can simply enjoy that you are going to China to be united with your child, New Life will make all the arrangements for you. Not only do we hope it will be the most joyful trip you will ever take, we want it to be easy, happy and memorable.

One way we make your travel easy is prior to your departure to China, usually a few months before you receive your referral, conduct a "travel" meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to prepare you for your journey to China, along with introducing you to other families traveling to China. At this meeting we will review what to expect regarding the appointments you will attend to finalize your adoption, we will also discuss the important "do's and don'ts" of traveling to a third world country.

This meeting is very important; therefore, for your comfort, education and benefit it is required that you attend. For those families unable to attend in Syracuse, NY, we will make arrangements for you to conference call into the meeting; so all families are able to receive the same information provided as well as get acquainted with each other.

Your entire trip to China will be up to 14 days long. There will be an agency representative available to you 24 hours every day you are in China. They will greet you at the airport upon your arrival; accompany you to all appointments, sight seeing, meals and help with any questions you have while in China. You will also be contacted by New Life while you are in China, we want to make sure all is going smoothly. While in China you will have business to conduct, which includes the adoption of your child, a medical appointment for your child and getting your child’s visa. You will not have appointments all day everyday, so you will have the opportunity to go sight seeing, rest or enjoy quiet time as a family. All your activities are included in your fees; you will only need to be prepared for purchasing any souvenirs of your trip.

To give you a better idea of what your trip to China could be like, the following is an example of a travel itinerary:

• Day 1: Travel to China

• Day 2: Arrive in the Capital City of Your Child’s Province

  Escorted to Hotel to Get Rest and Settle-in

• Day 3: Receive Your Child and Complete Paperwork
  The Meeting Takes Place in a Civil Office

• Day 4: Appointment with Provincial Officials

• Day 5: Sightseeing or Rest

• Day 6: Sightseeing or Rest

• Day 7: Receive Adoption Paperwork and Your Child’s Passport

• Day 8: Travel to Guangzhou

• Day 9: Visa Appointment

• Day 10: Sightseeing or Rest

• Day 11: Appointment at the US Consulate and Receive Your Child’s VISA

• Day 12: Depart China

• Day 13: Arrive Home

When it is time for you to travel you will receive a complete travel plan which will fully outline your trip. We only want to give you an idea of a travel plan to help you get a better idea of the exciting trip to China that awaits you. At your travel meeting we will review a standard travel itinerary, and discuss it thoroughly.
