Several years ago the China Center for Adoption Affairs selected New Life Adoption Agency, Inc. as one of the few agencies authorized to place Waiting Children With Special Needs in the United States.  Our agency continues to be honored to be included in the program, as we want to help the children of China find loving families.

Highlights of the Program:

• Many children who will live an active, full life are available with treatable medical needs
• Parents of up to the age of 55 may qualify to adopt
• Single females up to the age of 55 may qualify to adopt
• Older children and male children are typically also available

On a regular basis, usually every three (3) to four (4) months, New Life receives from CCAA a group of children available for adoption, who have identified special needs.  Any family qualified for a traditional adoption, if they are willing and able to care for the child's needs, are usually eligible for the Special Needs program. Single women may also be eligible to adopt through the Special Needs Program.  Parents up to the age of 55 are accepted into the Special Needs program. The qualifications for adopting a Waiting Child with Special Needs are outlined in the "QUALIFICATIONS" section of Waiting Children with Special Needs.

We are very excited about offering the Waiting Children with Special Needs program.  Many New Life families have joyfully received the child of their heart into their family, and discovered that this program was very helpful to them in building their family. Most certainly we are pleased for the beautiful children of China who find loving homes with caring families, knowing they receive the correct support and treatment to allow them to live active happy lives.

The children in the Waiting Children with Special Needs program are children who may have slight to more complex medical needs, or even be older children (over four years of age) with a very mild medical need. In the majority of situations the child's need is correctable as well as manageable through proper medical care, allowing the child to live a happy active life.  The Special Needs program is designed for those families who feel they can welcome into their home a child who may need some extra help, and are prepared to address the child's needs.

There are many children with special needs available for adoption.  Examples of typical medical conditions include children with cleft palate, cleft lip, missing limbs or deformed limbs, hearing challenges, vision issues and Hepatitis. It is important as prospective parents to speak with a medical specialist to learn more about the medical condition of the child, as well as gaining a better understanding of the proper course of medical treatment for the child.
